Questions Families Ask Us
Every question families ask us about every park we book — straight answers, no fine print. Don’t see yours? Ask us on the form — we answer everything.
Working With a Travel Planner
Is it cheaper to use a Disney travel agent?
It is never more expensive — planning is free because Disney pays us. It is often cheaper, because we match the right season, ticket, and hotel to your budget and chase discounts after you book.
Does Disney have free travel agents?
Authorized Disney travel planners like Crowned And Booked work at no extra cost to you. Disney pays the commission; your price stays the same.
What do you actually do for us?
We pick the right hotel for your budget, build day-by-day park plans, book dining, explain and handle Lightning Lane and Express Pass, watch for price drops, and stay on call for questions until you are home.
Should I use a travel agent to book a Disney trip?
If you have 40 spare hours and love research, you can do it yourself. If you would rather get it right the first time without the homework, that is what we are for — at no extra cost.
Can you get Disney tickets cheaper through a travel agent?
Agents cannot sell below Disney's prices, but we make sure you buy the right ticket, catch discounts you would miss, and never overpay for days or add-ons you will not use.
What destinations do you book?
Every Disney in the world — Disney World, Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Aulani, Adventures by Disney, and Disney Cruise Line — plus Universal Orlando, Epic Universe, other cruise lines, and all-inclusive getaways.
How far ahead should we start planning?
The sweet spot is 6 to 12 months before your trip. Hotels and dining book up early. But if your trip is sooner, ask anyway — we can usually still help.
What is the best month to go to Disney World?
For low crowds and prices: late January, early February, or September. For weather: October and early November. We match the month to what your family cares about most.
Will Disney know if my child is about to turn 3?
Kids under 3 are free at Disney parks — age at the time of the visit is what counts. If a birthday lands mid-trip, ask us; we will tell you exactly how the rules work.
We already booked our trip. Can you still help?
Often, yes. Reach out through the form and tell us what you have booked — we will tell you honestly whether we can add value from here.
Where are you located?
Colorado Springs, Colorado — planning trips for families all over the United States by form, email, and quick calls.
How do we reach you?
Through the Start Planning form. A real person reads every one, usually within one business day. No call centers, no runaround.
How do Disney travel agents get paid?
Disney and the other travel companies pay us a commission out of their side after you travel. It never gets added to your price.
Why use a Disney travel agent instead of booking direct?
Same price, but you get a plan: the right hotel, dining booked on time, Lightning Lane handled, and a person watching for discounts. Booking direct gets you none of that.
How do I find a good Disney travel agent?
Look for someone who plans these trips constantly, answers fast, and tells you where NOT to spend money. Then send one trip request and judge the response for yourself — ours is free.
Are Disney vacation packages worth it?
Sometimes — packages bundle the room and tickets, and some promos only apply to packages. Sometimes booking pieces separately wins. We price it both ways for you.
Can you make payments on a Disney vacation?
Yes. Most Disney trips need only a small deposit up front, and you can pay a little at a time until about 30 days before the trip. We set up the schedule with you.
What happens if Disney releases a discount after I book?
We watch for it and work to get the new discount applied to your existing trip. That price-watch alone often pays for the whole idea of using a planner.
Do you charge fees for changes or cancellations?
We do not charge planning or change fees. The travel companies have their own rules on deposits and dates — we explain those before you book anything.
Do you only work with families with young kids?
Little-kid trips are our sweet spot, but we plan multigenerational trips, adults-only getaways, and girlfriend trips too.
Getting Started
What happens after I send this form?
A real person — not a bot — reads it and replies within one business day with next steps or a few smart questions. No spam, no pressure.
Does this cost anything?
No. Quotes and planning help are free. When you book through us, the travel companies pay us — you pay the same price as booking it yourself.
Do I have to book to get help?
No. Start with a quote and see what we put together. Most families book with us because the plan is better, not because they have to.
What if I do not know my dates or budget yet?
That is fine — pick "not sure" and tell us what you are dreaming about. Helping you land on the right dates and a real budget is part of the job.

Is the Disney dining plan worth it?
Sometimes. It saves money for families who love sit-down and character meals, and wastes money for light eaters. We run the math for your family before you add it.

Roughly $15 to $40 per person per day depending on the park and date. Whether it is worth it depends on your crowd level — we run the math for your dates.

For short trips and repeat visitors, often yes. For a first trip with little kids, usually no — one park a day is plenty. We will tell you which camp you are in.

Arriving before the park opens so you walk onto big rides with no lines. One good rope-drop morning can beat a whole afternoon of waiting.
What is the cheapest month for a Disney trip?
Usually late January, early February, or September — lower hotel rates and shorter lines. We check real prices for your exact dates.
How far ahead should we book a Disney trip?
Six to twelve months out opens the best hotels and dining. Closer-in trips still work — the plan just gets more tactical.
Do Disney hotels offer early park entry?
Yes — Disney World hotel guests get into every park 30 minutes early each day. With little kids, that half hour is gold.
Is Disney doable on a budget?

If you want everyone in the photos — including the ride shots — often yes. If your phone does the job, skip it. We are honest about the extras.

All of them — Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal Japan in Osaka, Singapore, Beijing, and the new Universal Kids Resort in Texas. Every Universal destination on Earth, planned free.
What are Universal Orlando's park hours?
Usually 8 or 9 a.m. to somewhere between 6 and 10 p.m., changing by park and season. We plan your days around the real calendar.
Are Universal Orlando tickets refundable?
No — Universal tickets are non-refundable, though dates can often be adjusted. Getting the right ticket the first time matters.
How much is parking at Universal Orlando?
Roughly $30 to $40 a day at the main garage, and free after 6 p.m. most nights. Hotel guests and walkers skip it entirely — one more reason hotel choice matters.
Which Universal hotels include free Express Pass?
The three Premier hotels — Royal Pacific, Hard Rock, and Portofino Bay — include unlimited Express for the two original parks (not Epic Universe). That perk can beat buying passes outright; we run the math.
Can you do all three Universal Orlando parks in one day?
No — and trying ruins all three. One park per day, or two with park-to-park hopping. We will build the right split for your trip length.
When are Universal Orlando tickets cheapest?
Slower seasons — late January, early February, September — price lower. Tickets do not drop closer to the date, so early booking is safe.
Does Universal Orlando have a dining plan?
Universal offers simple quick-service dining options rather than Disney-style dining plans. Honestly, most families do better ordering food as they go — we will tell you straight.
How far is Universal Orlando from Disney World?
About 10 miles — a 15-to-20-minute drive. Doing both resorts in one week is completely doable, and it is our specialty.

Universal Studios Florida
What is Universal Studios Florida known for?
The movies-and-TV park: Harry Potter's Diagon Alley, Minion Land, DreamWorks Land, The Simpsons' Springfield, and shows and simulators the whole family can do together.
When did Universal Studios Florida open?
In June 1990. It has been rebuilt piece by piece ever since — most of what you will ride today did not exist ten years ago.
Is Diagon Alley in this park?
Yes — Diagon Alley is in Universal Studios Florida, and Hogsmeade is next door in Islands of Adventure. The Hogwarts Express connects them, but riding it requires a park-to-park ticket.
Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure — which is better?
Studios has more shows, simulators, and little-kid lands; Islands of Adventure has the big coasters. Most families do both with a park-to-park ticket — we plan the order.
Which Universal Studios is better — Florida or California?
Florida is a full vacation: three parks, resort hotels, and more rides. California is one park with the famous Studio Tour. Different trips — we book both and tell you which fits.
What can you bring into Universal Studios Florida?
Small bags, snacks, and sealed water are fine; glass, coolers, and hard-sided luggage are not. Bags go through security at the gate. We send you a what-to-pack list before your trip.
Is Universal Studios Florida good for little kids?
Yes — Minion Land, DreamWorks Land, and the character meets make it the gentler of the two original parks. We build your day around what your kids can ride.
Is one day enough for Universal Studios Florida?
One day covers this park well. Add Islands of Adventure and Epic Universe, and most families want three park days total.
What is Halloween Horror Nights?
A separate-ticket nighttime event at Universal Studios Florida in the fall. It is genuinely scary and made for teens and adults — not a little-kid event. We will tell you if it fits your trip.
When is Halloween Horror Nights?
Select nights from late August or early September through early November, in the evenings after regular park hours. Separate ticket, genuinely scary, teens-and-up.
Does Universal Studios Florida have single rider lines?
Several big rides do — a huge line-skipper for families who do not mind splitting up for a ride. We flag which rides offer it.
What should we ride first at Universal Studios Florida?
Head to the newest headline ride at opening, then Diagon Alley before mid-morning. The exact order depends on your crew — that is what your day plan is for.
What time does Universal Studios Florida close?
Usually between 6 and 10 p.m. depending on season — earlier on Halloween Horror Nights evenings when the park clears for the event. We check your dates.

What time does Islands of Adventure close?
Hours change by season — usually 9 a.m. to somewhere between 7 and 10 p.m. We check the park calendar for your exact dates and build your day around the real hours.

Yes, two ways: a short walk through CityWalk, or the Hogwarts Express train between the two Potter lands — which requires a park-to-park ticket.
How much are Islands of Adventure tickets?
One-day tickets flex by date — roughly $120 to $170. Multi-day and park-to-park tickets drop the per-day price a lot, and that is usually the smarter buy. We match the ticket to your trip.
What are the best rides at Islands of Adventure?
Hagrid's and the VelociCoaster are two of the best coasters in America, and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey inside Hogwarts castle is a classic. Lines for all three get long — that is where the plan earns its keep.

Is Islands of Adventure good for little kids?
Seuss Landing is wonderful for little ones, but this park skews bigger-kid overall. We check heights ahead of time so nobody hits a sad surprise at the gate.
How tall do kids need to be for the big rides?
The headline coasters run roughly 48 to 54 inches, and several family rides sit around 40 inches. We flag exactly what each of your kids can ride before you go.
How many days do you need?
One day for this park alone. Doing both Potter lands right takes a park-to-park ticket and a smart order — which is exactly what we build.
How big is Islands of Adventure?
About 100 acres arranged as a ring of themed islands around a lagoon — very walkable, with each land feeling like its own world.
Where should we eat at Islands of Adventure?
Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade is the fan favorite; Mythos gets called the best theme park restaurant in America. Both are worth planning around — we book what needs booking.
Is Express Pass worth it at Islands of Adventure?
On crowded days, very — but note it does not cover Hagrid's ride. Some hotels include Express free, which changes the math. We run it for your dates.
When did Islands of Adventure open?
In 1999, and it has been rebuilt in waves since — the Wizarding World in 2010, Hagrid's in 2019, VelociCoaster in 2021.

One-day tickets change price by date — roughly $139 to $199 for adults. Multi-day Universal tickets now include Epic Universe days, and that is usually the better value. We match the right ticket to your trip.
Are Epic Universe tickets refundable?
Generally no — Universal tickets are not refundable, though dates can often be changed. This is one more reason to get the ticket right the first time.
What hotels are at Epic Universe?
Helios Grand is attached to the park with its own entrance. Stella Nova and Terra Luna sit right across the street and cost much less. All Universal hotel guests get early park entry, which matters a lot at Epic.
Is Epic Universe good for little kids?
Yes — Super Nintendo World and Isle of Berk are wonderful for young kids. Dark Universe skews older. We plan around your kids' ages and heights.
What time does Epic Universe open and close?
Hours change by season — usually about 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Hotel guests get in early. We check the calendar for your exact dates and build your morning plan around it.
How big is Epic Universe?
About 750 acres across the whole property — Universal's biggest Orlando park, though the walkable core is comfortable in a day with a plan.

Hollywood is one park, not three — and it is built around a real working movie studio. The Studio Tour drives you through actual backlots and sets, which exists nowhere else. Most families do it in one full day.
Is the Studio Tour worth it?
It is the reason this park exists — a tram ride through a real studio with famous sets and surprises along the way. First visit? Do not skip it.
Does Universal Hollywood have Super Nintendo World?
Yes — it opened there in 2023. It is smaller than the versions in Orlando and Japan, but Mario Kart and the power-up bands are all there.
How many days do you need at Universal Studios Hollywood?
One well-planned day covers the park, the Studio Tour, and Super Nintendo World. We build the order so the big stuff happens before the lines do.
How crowded does Universal Hollywood get?
Weekends, holidays, and summer get packed; regular weekdays in the school year are calmest. Your dates decide whether Express Pass is worth it — we run that math.
Are Costco or discount Universal Hollywood tickets legit?
Costco and a few authorized sellers often run real deals, especially on multi-visit tickets. We compare every legitimate option for your dates so you pay the lowest real price.
Where should we stay for Universal Hollywood?

Is Universal Japan English-friendly?
Signs and apps work in English and rides are easy to enjoy in any language. Shows are mostly in Japanese — we will tell you which ones still land for your family.
When should we avoid USJ?
Japanese school holidays and Golden Week (late April to early May) bring the biggest crowds. We aim your Japan trip at the calmer windows.

The Transformers ride, the dueling Battlestar Galactica coasters, Puss in Boots' Giant Journey, and the new Minion Land. Several of these exist in few or no other Universal parks.
How big is Universal Singapore?
Compact — one relaxed day covers it. That makes it a perfect add-on to a Singapore stopover rather than a whole-trip destination.
Is Universal Singapore good for kids?
Yes — it is one of the friendlier Universal parks for younger kids, with plenty under the big-coaster level. English is an official language, so navigation is effortless.
Does it fit a bigger Asia trip?
Perfectly. Singapore is a classic stopover between the US and Southeast Asia or Australia — we build the park day into the route.

Cruises
Which Disney cruise ship is the best?
For first-timers with young kids, the newest and biggest ships — the Wish, the Treasure, and the brand-new Destiny — have the most to do. The classic ships feel cozier and often cost less. We match the ship to your kids' ages and your budget.
Is a Disney cruise worth it?
For most families with kids, yes — the kids' clubs, character time, and shows are the best at sea, and food is included. It costs more than other lines, and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth it for your family.
Why are Disney cruises so expensive?
You are paying for the entertainment, the kids' clubs, included sodas and room service, and Disney service. Booking early and sailing in slower months closes a lot of the price gap.
Where do Disney cruises leave from?
Mostly Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale in Florida, plus Galveston, San Diego, New York some years, San Juan, and Vancouver for Alaska. We find the sailing closest to you — or the itinerary worth flying for.
When is a Disney cruise cheapest?
Early January after the holidays, early February, early May, and September through early December (outside holiday weeks) usually have the lowest fares. Booking early almost always beats waiting.
How much does a Disney cruise cost per person?
A rough guide: about $1,000 to $2,500 per person for a 4-night sailing, depending on the ship, room, and week. A family of four often lands between $4,000 and $9,000. We quote your exact dates for free.
Are Disney cruise deposits refundable?
Usually yes — most deposits can be refunded before your final payment date. Some special room categories are non-refundable. We flag the rules on your exact room before you pay anything.
Do Disney cruises work for adults without kids?
Yes — every ship has adult-only pools, dining, and lounges, and fall sailings are quieter. We plan adults-only cruises and girlfriend getaways too.
Which Disney cruise goes to Alaska?
Disney sails Alaska in the summer, leaving from Vancouver, Canada. It books up early — Alaska is one of the trips where planning ahead really pays.
Do you book other cruise lines too?
Yes. Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Norwegian, and more. If a different line fits your people and your budget better, that is what we will recommend.
How much is a Disney cruise deposit?
Typically 20% of the fare — a family sailing usually means several hundred dollars down, with the rest due at final payment. We map the payment schedule before you commit.
When is final payment due on a Disney cruise?
Usually 90 to 120 days before sailing depending on the itinerary and room type. We put the date on your calendar the day you book.
What is Castaway Cay?
Disney's private Bahamian island — most Caribbean and Bahamas sailings stop there. Beach, waterslides, characters, and food are all included. Its sister island, Lookout Cay, opened in 2024.
Do you tip on a Disney cruise?
Yes — gratuities of roughly $16 per person per night are standard for your stateroom and dining team, added onboard or prepaid. We include them in your real trip cost up front.
What should we pack for a Disney cruise?
Swimsuits you can reach before the luggage arrives, costumes for pirate night, and one nicer outfit. We send a full packing list with your documents.
Do we need travel insurance for a cruise?
We strongly recommend it for cruises — flight delays, illness, and missed ports are exactly what it covers. We quote it with your booking so you can decide with real numbers.
When should we book an Alaska Disney cruise?
A year or more ahead — Alaska has a short summer season and the best rooms sell out first. It is one trip where early truly wins.
What happens on a Disney cruise sea day?
Kids' clubs, character meets, deck parties, first-run movies, and adult-only pools and dining — sea days are the point, not the gap between ports.
Stop researching. Start packing.
One short form is all it takes. Tell us where you want to go, and we’ll take it from there.
