Disney World Vacation Planning
Four parks, 25+ hotels, and a thousand small decisions — planned by a mom who has walked every mile of it with kids in tow.
The Four Parks (and Who Each One Is For)
- Magic Kingdom — the castle park. The most rides for little kids of any Disney park on Earth, plus the fireworks everyone pictures. First trip? This is your anchor day.
- EPCOT — festivals, food from around the world, and rides the whole family lines up for: Frozen, Ratatouille, and the Guardians of the Galaxy coaster.
- Hollywood Studios — Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Toy Story Land, and the biggest thrills-per-hour of the four. Big kids and teens vote for this one.
- Animal Kingdom — a real safari with real animals, plus the glowing world of Pandora. The calmest pace at Disney — perfect for a mid-trip breather.
Where Disney World Trips Go Wrong
The wrong park on the wrong day. Dining that booked up two months ago. Lightning Lane bought for rides your kids can’t ride. A hotel that eats the budget the pool never justifies. None of these mistakes are obvious until you’re standing in them — which is why the plan matters more here than anywhere.
Here’s what we handle for you:
- Park-by-park day plans — which park on which day, matched to crowds and your kids’ stamina.
- The right hotel for your family — value, moderate, or deluxe, chosen for how your family actually travels.
- Dining, booked before it fills — character meals and the reservations that matter, on the calendar at the right moment.
- Lightning Lane, decoded — what to buy, what to skip, and when to book it for your exact parks.
- Price watch — if Disney releases a discount after you book, we work to get it applied.

Quick Answers
Where is Disney World?
Walt Disney World is in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, just outside Orlando — about 25 minutes from the Orlando airport. It covers four theme parks, two water parks, and more than 25 hotels.
Which Disney World park is the best?
For first trips and little kids, Magic Kingdom. For food and festivals, EPCOT. For Star Wars fans, Hollywood Studios. For animals and a calmer day, Animal Kingdom. The real answer depends on your family — matching parks to kids is what we do.
How many days do you need at Disney World?
Four park days — one per park — is the classic first trip. Five to seven days adds rest, pool time, and a second Magic Kingdom day. Shorter trips work too; we just plan them tighter.
Are Disney World tickets refundable?
No — Disney tickets are non-refundable, but unused tickets can usually be moved to new dates. Getting the ticket right the first time is one more reason a planner helps.
Do you still need park reservations at Disney World?
No. Since 2024, date-based tickets no longer need park reservations — you just show up at the park you planned. Only some annual passholders still use them on busy days.
When is Disney World cheapest?
Late January through early February, late August, and most of September usually have the lowest prices and the shortest lines. Holiday weeks cost the most.
When does Disney World decorate for Christmas?
Decorations start going up in early November, right after Halloween ends. If your family wants the full Christmas look without Christmas-week crowds, early December is the sweet spot.
Are Disney World pools heated?
Yes — Disney hotel pools are heated year-round, so pool days work even on a January trip.
